The most anticipated wedding event of the year is finally upon us, and here are some of the latest updates:

Celebrity guests are expected to include John Travolta and Kelly Preston, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Brooke Shields, Leah Remini, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, Cameron Crowe, J.J. Abrams, Victoria and David Beckham and Giorgio Armani. Katie's parents and Tom's adopted children will also be in attendance.

Gifts for wedding attendees will be quite extravagant. "There's going to be a goody bag for everyone to take home," an insider has said. The bags will include embroidered towels (which the couple spent $8,000 on) as well as Chrome Hearts sunglasses worth over $1,000 a piece. The source said, "Tom thinks the shades are the coolest things ever." Meanwhile, Katie's bridesmaids will get something extra: beautiful bridesmaid gowns and a spa day on Friday.

Tom's ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, who is not expected at the wedding, has sent the couple warm wishes in the form of a Baccarat vase.

Victoria and David Beckham have still not decided what to get their famous friends as a wedding present. An insider told People magazine, "David and Victoria are still scratching their heads as to what is the perfect present to give them. It's pretty damn hard finding the ideal gift for Tom and Katie." Victoria has also not decided on her wedding outfit and is choosing between six and seven dresses.

Speaking of wedding outfits, Tom is said to be too hefty for his Armani wedding suit. The actor must have put on some sympathy baby weight when Katie was pregnant with their daughter, Suri.
